LONATO DEL GARDA (Brescia) – Positive results for the Azzurri del Trap at the European Championships currently being held in Lonato del Garda in the province of Brescia.
The medals came in the team competitions and in particular in the one reserved for the Mixed Team. An all-Italian final with the medal match whose protagonists were the pairs composed of Silvana Maria Stanco (Fiamme Oro) from Sturno (AV) and Mauro De Filippis (Fiamme Oro) from Taranto (second in qualification with 143/150), and by Maria Lucia Palmitessa (Fiamme Oro) from Monopoli (BA) and Giovanni Pellielo (Fiamme Azzurre) from Vercelli, first with 144/150. The gold and the title of European Champions went to Stanco-De Filippis who won 7 to 3. Silver also in the women’s team competition with the policewoman from Crevalcore (BO) Jessica Rossi Maria Lucia Palmitessa and Silvana Maria Stanco who with the score of 343/375 were preceded only by Finland (345/375).
“We used this opportunity as a lead-up to the Paris Games – declared the Foligno-born Spoleto coach Marco Conti on the Fitav website – in the individual competition we reached the finals with Jessica (Rossi, ed.) and Massimo (Fabbrizi, ed.), in the mixed one all three teams on the platform demonstrated that they are “medal worthy”. I congratulate Mauro (De Filippis, ed.) and Silvana (Stanco, ed.) for winning the titles and Marialucia (Palmitessa, ed.) and Johnnu (Pellielo, ed.) for the silver. Now we will concentrate on continuing the journey towards the Five Circles race.”
