Robert Fico was hospitalized

Robert Fico, Slovakia’s prime minister, has been transferred to hospital after being shot following a cabinet meeting. In the sequence of the first images released, the alleged shooter, a 71-year-old man, can be seen lying on the floor surrounded by policemen as he tried to flee the scene.

The events took place in the city of Handlovej. When Fico left the building where he had met members of his government he approached the crowd waiting for him, and then several shots were heard. The president was taken to a hospital.

Witnesses say that after hearing several shots, the prime minister fell to the ground. The security guards gave him first aid, loaded him into a car, which transported him out of the place. The police surrounded the area and evacuated the cultural center in front of which the shooting occurred. (RT)

On the prime minister’s Facebook page it was published that he was hit in the abdomen and chest and that his condition is serious, the next few hours will be decisive. However, some local media report that Robert Fico is out of danger.

Slovak President Zuzana Caputová condemned “in the strongest possible terms” the “brutal and reckless attack” against the prime minister and said she was “totally shocked”. “I wish her a lot of strength in this critical moment and a speedy recovery,” she added.

“An attack on the prime minister is a threat to everything that has adorned Slovakia’s democracy so far,” said the country’s president-elect, Peter Pellegrini, adding that it “horrifies him where he can bring hatred towards another political opinion.” . After the attack against Fico, Pellegrini prematurely ended his stay abroad and is currently returning to Slovakia.

Fico took over as prime minister in October 2023, after two terms from 2006 to 2010 and from 2012 to 2018. He leads the Direction-Socialdemocracy (Smer) party. One of the first measures he took at the beginning of his third term was to stop the previous government’s policy of military aid to Ukraine, and he supported encouraging negotiations between Moscow and Kiev to reach an agreement Pacific.

What happened cannot help but make us reflect: could it have been a deranged person or was there someone behind the hand of the person who shot the Slovakian prime minister? It is worth remembering that Robert Fico won the elections with an electoral program that is not exactly the one wanted by the United States and its European vassal partners regarding policies towards Russia and Ukraine.

In fact, Robert Fico declared that Slovakia would no longer send military aid to Ukraine, he did not glorify the Nazis in Ukraine, he declares that Kiev is being used for political games against Russia, he says that Bratislava will block Ukraine’s accession to the Born, and much more.
Will it just be a coincidence?
