LECCO – The province of Lecco was hit, particularly in the Merate area, by bad weather which characterized today, Wednesday, causing numerous inconveniences and requiring continuous interventions by the Fire Brigade.

The heavy rains, which fell without stopping, caused flooding, small landslides and the fall of trees, as in municipality of Torre de’ Busiwhere some trees collapsed onto the road, completely blocking the road.

The timely intervention of the Fire Brigade allowed the road to be cleared, guaranteeing the restoration of traffic and avoiding further dangers for motorists and pedestrians. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Also in Torre de Busi the closure of the SP179 road to transit from via Mazzini, loc. Vignolo San Gottardo, to check the situation of an overlying slope. Anyone who needs to proceed towards Torre de Busi and vice versa will have to use via Fontana to get up and down.

The situation remains delicate and the authorities have issued aorange alert for hydrogeological risk, also valid for tomorrow (Thursday). Further rainfall and adverse weather conditions are expected, which could further aggravate the situation. The Civil Protection recommends maximum caution while the local authorities are carefully monitoring the evolution of the situation.
