Pesaro Urbino provincial council, funds for floods and disposals

The cable cars of Mount Catria

PESARO – Il provincial council unanimously approved changes to the budget forecast and the Dup (Single programming document) 2024-2026. «It is worth mentioning the application of the restricted surplus for the co-financing of safety works relating to intersections and road barriers in the Municipality of San Costanzo (60 thousand euros), the extraordinary maintenance of the Furlo Reserve (56 thousand euros) and of the roads inside the Cesane park (100 thousand euros)”, reported the general director Marco Domenicucci. «New regional funding is planned for extraordinary maintenance of the ‘Caprile Monte Catria’ cableway (185 thousand euros) and for the landslide consolidation project on provincial road 94 Monterolo (200 thousand euros)”, in addition to “state funds for the Sprar international cooperation project for the reception of Ukrainian refugees (140 thousand euros)”.

Changes also in the organisation’s disposal plan. With an update above all: «For two portions of the buildings of the former Employment Centers of Pesaro (via Luca Della Robbia) and Urbino (via dell’Annunziata) in co-ownership, the Region is interested in purchasing the entire shares. The premises will be used for its training offices. From the operation the Province could obtain two million, to then be allocated to other needs», highlighted the general director. It should be noted that the via Gramsci institution has updated the public works program in its Single Planning Document, providing approximately 16 million for 12 interventions relating to the flood emergency of May 2023. This is the financing of the Ministry of the Interior, through an order of the commissioner of national civil protection. Also included in the DUP’s list are regional funds for the restoration of damage caused by bad weather on the provincial road 2 Conca (one million euros, spread halfway between 2024 and 2025) and for the accessibility of provincial road 106 to the Fonte Avellana complex (560 thousand euros). But also the regional civil protection funds for the 2022 earthquake, intended for the Cecchi school buildings in Pesaro and Volta di Fano (135 thousand euros).

The management plan schemes for the ‘Natura 2000 Network’ sites have been definitively adopted, i.e. the areas intended for the conservation of biological diversity, which concern the SPAs (Special Protection Areas) ‘Calanchi and arid grasslands of the middle Foglia Valley’ and ‘Furlo’, in addition to the ZSC (Special Conservation Area) ‘Montecalvo in Foglia’ and ‘Gola del Furlo’. For these sites, funds for management plans have been obtained through the Mountain Unions. Competence is mixed between mountain unions and the province.
