Meeting on the forestry information system of the Basilicata Region

“The protection and valorisation of the forestry heritage of our region is the essential condition for promoting economic development capable of ensuring eco-sustainable management of the territory. The Forestry Information System of the Region, as well as the new regulation, recently approved by the Regional Council, on the regulation of the regional register of forestry companies in Basilicata that carry out works or provide forestry services, have the aim of collecting and directing the companies that intend to carry out interventions in the forestry and environmental and silviculture sectors, as well as in the management, defense and protection of the territory and in the sector of hydraulic-forestry arrangements on areas of public ownership or possession. The regulation also indicates the criteria for the professional training of forestry operators and for the execution of forest management interventions. It is therefore configured as a further tool to support productive forestation, care of the territory and the development of the regional agricultural sector”.

This was said by councilor Alessandro Galella who participated in the information and training day on the Forestry Information System of the Basilicata Region aimed at professionals belonging to the Regional Federation of Agronomists and Forestry Doctors, which took place today in the Basento Room of the General Directorate for Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies of the Basilicata Region.

The meeting, which falls within the scope of the activities connected to the implementation of the National Forestry Strategy, thanks to the planning of targeted interventions by the Region’s Forestry Office, was also an opportunity to promote discussion on other closely related issues current events such as the new regulation governing the register of forestry companies, for which a related online registration platform has also been set up, and the new SRE03 tender relating to the first forestry establishment.
