Borussia Dortmund, surprisingly, is the first Champions League finalist. As in the first leg of the semi-final, the Germans beat PSG 1-0 in the return leg at the Parc des Princes.
After a rather balanced first half which saw Donnarumma perform a real miracle on Adeyemi, Luis Enrique’s team took to the pitch in the second half with a very different attitude and collected one opportunity after another. In the second half, the Parisians’ dreams were shattered four times against a post: a sensational strike by Zaire-Emery a few steps from the goal line, another by Nuno Mendes with a long-range shot, yet another by Mbappé and finally Lee’s stone hit the crossbar.
Borussia Dortmund found the goal on the only opportunity available in the second half: Luis Enrique’s decision to prefer Beraldo to Skriniar will be discussed because it was the Brazilian defender born in 2003 who lost Hummels on the goal that decided the match and sent Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final thirteen years after the last time.
