Meeting with journalists from Trapani, with the Public Prosecutor Gabriele Paci, with the President of the Court, Daniela Troja, with the Prefect of the province Daniela Lupo and with the mayor of the city Giacomo Tranchida. These are all the commitments fulfilled by the new Police Commissioner Giuseppe Felice Peritore, on his first day of taking office at the Police Headquarters.
Meetings held in a cordial atmosphere, during which Peritore underlined the necessary relationship of synergistic collaboration between the Trapani Police Headquarters, the Judicial Authority, the Prefecture and local authorities. As he declared to the Trapani press, in the meeting dedicated to them, Peritore aims for good “teamwork”.
The intent is to continue the activity carried out by the women and men of the State Police of Trapani, in the footsteps of Salvo La Rosa, the outgoing commissioner, as demonstrated by the numerous results achieved, both in the context of the daily control services of the territory as well as in the context of the judicial police.
“I would like to point out that today we had 83 non-EU citizens disembarked, who we are treating appropriately”, the Police Commissioner declared to the Trapani press on the day of his inauguration.

“I am very happy to return to work in this area – declared the new Police Commissioner Giuseppe Felice Peritore –I care a lot about team and group work between the State Police and the Police Headquarters and the other forces in the area, naturally under the coordination of the Prefect. The common goal is resources and objectives to be achieved, primarily for order and safety.
Maximum impetus will be given to prevention activity in general and control of the territory, if possible, with a greater number of patrols in the territory in all forms – continues Peritore -. Therefore both on patrol and on foot, also for a form of closeness to citizens and to raise safety standards.
I then consider it a priority to give maximum impetus to the investigative offices for the management and coordination of the judicial authority both in terms of organized crime and widespread crime. Absolute maximum priority for investigative activity to the judicial authority.
The other aspect on which we will strive to be as close as possible to young people with meetings in schools where we will organize meetings and debates to address issues relating to culture and legality to adopt responsible behavior. These are the directions that have always inspired me“.
Who is the new commissioner
60 years old, originally from Agrigento, Peritore returns to Sicily, where in recent years he has held various positions. Peritore leaves Imperia, where he has served since 2021, after having served at the Palermo Police Headquarters until 2014 and, subsequently until 2020, he held the position of deputy of the police commissioner of Agrigento where he was involved in the management of the migratory flow.
In recent years it has also created training courses to educate the culture of legality, involving schools in the province.
He was also a teacher of police law in refresher and professional training courses.
Promoted to Senior Manager with effect from 1 January 2020, he was initially assigned to Rome at the Central Inspection Office of the Department of Public Security with the role of Inspector General.
Since 1 August 2020 he has been manager of the first Border Police Zone of Turin, responsible for the maritime, air and land borders of Piedmont, Liguria and Valle D’Aosta.
During his management, the mixed Italian-French team for border controls in Ventimiglia was activated, considered an innovative form of international collaboration between police forces.
On 31 October 2021 he assumed the functions of Police Commissioner of the province of Imperia, remaining in this position until 5 May 2024.
In 2022 he was awarded the honor of Knight of Merit of the Republic by the President of the Republic.
