Alcamo collapses one step away from the finish line in the Serie B Drago championship. Despite many extenuating circumstances, Alcamo suffered the clearest defeat of recent seasons with a colorless performance to say the least. The final result was 44-26, 21-14 in the first half. The signs had all been there in the last two home matches against Messina and Scicli Hsc; now those problems were all highlighted against a Girgenti who won with full merit. Game closed eleven minutes after the restart when Alcamo down by 7 goals, upon returning to the field, practically never scored, getting a partial score of 4/0, with the clock showing 19 minutes to go, with the score at 25- 14.
From then on Benedetto Randes rotated his players trying to avoid injuries and suspensions in view of the last match against Mascalucia. Game over and perhaps never started for the Alcamo team who badly hit the first match ball to close the Championship which now surprisingly remains open with just one day to go. In Girgenti mention goes to the goalkeeper Randisi and to the marvelous trio Mantisi, Gelo, Scibetta; for Alcamo, the performance of goalkeeper Giulian Stellino was saved, a worthy replacement for Giuseppe Errante still absent due to a muscle problem, more serious than expected, which also forced him to miss the away match in Agrigento after the home match with Scicli Hsc.
