Today, May 6, at 3.30 pm, the meeting organized by the Municipality of Bacoli, the Campania Region and the Department of Civil Protection will take place to inform citizens about the bradyseismic phenomenon taking place in the volcanic area of ​​Campi Flegrei. The meeting is held in Bacoli at the Fusaro Bourbon Park, in the Sala dell’Ostrichina.

The initiative, which follows the one that took place on 11 April in Pozzuoli, is part of the Communication Plan drawn up by the Campania Region, in conjunction with the national Department as part of Legislative Decree 140 of 12 October. The measure aims to offer the population updated information on the ongoing bradyseismic crisis and on the implementation of the measures envisaged by the Legislative Decree.

During the meeting, answers will be provided to citizens’ most frequently asked questions, both from a scientific point of view and regarding the broader response of the civil protection system.

In addition to the mayor of Bacoli, the owner of the house, the Head of the Civil Protection Department, together with the Deputy Head, participates in the initiative, representing the institutions; the regional councilor for Security, Legality, Immigration; the general director of the Civil Protection of the Campania Region; the Prefect of Naples and the delegate of the Metropolitan Mayor. As regards scientific research bodies, the director of the Ingv Volcanoes Department is present; the director of the INGV Vesuvian Observatory; the president of the Reluis Interuniversity Consortium (Network of University Earthquake Engineering Laboratories), the scientific director of Reluis, and the scientific director of the Plinius Competence Center. The meeting will be moderated by the coordinator of the civil protection press office of the Campania Region.
