Torremaggiore ATM explosion

New attack on an ATM in Capitanata. This time it happened in Torremaggiore, where in Corso Matteotti, some unknown persons blew up, probably using a rudimentary device, the ATM of the Monte Paschi di Siena branch. Significant damage was caused to the structure, although it is not yet clear whether the criminals managed to remove the money. The Carabinieri are investigating the case, knowing by viewing the video surveillance images inside and outside the bank. A similar episode, in the same area, had already occurred in January when thieves managed to steal the money inside after blowing up the ATM.

PREVIOUS. Attacks on ATMs are becoming a sad habit in the small towns of the province of Foggia. Two weeks ago it was Orsara di Puglia’s turn to wake up to an explosion in the middle of the night in Corso Vittoria, where unknown persons had detonated, again with a rudimentary device, the ATM machine of the branch without a counter of the BPER bank. In Rignano Garganico, however, a month ago, some criminals attacked the headquarters of the BCC credit institution, also causing extensive damage to the structure, making it effectively unusable and taking away over 15 thousand euros.
