They used an old ruse, which apparently still works very well, for yet another scam against the elderly. With the story of the son involved in a road accident and in custody, over 6 thousand euros were in fact stolen from an elderly couple by a fake lawyer. After the money, the scammers also tried to get gold and precious items delivered. All in a very busy street subject to video surveillance. It is hoped that at least one of the cameras placed at the entrance to the town may have filmed the criminals. Only a few days ago a similar scam attempt had been attempted in nearby Roccavivara but the person involved, who had not fallen into the trap, had warned the Municipality which immediately raised the alarm, raising the level of attention among citizens. Unfortunately, in Trivento, it is not the first time a similar episode has happened. Various means are used, among the most used are the delivery of a package never ordered or, as in the latter case the accident to a family member, to appeal to the elderly. Some time ago also in Trivento, with the collaboration of the local Carabinieri station, a meeting was held with the elderly to warn them against these scam attempts.
