One year ago the tragic death of Nicola Fusco: 8 May the memory between Ravello and Agerola

Of EMILIANO AMATO

A year has passed since that cursed May 8th, the day he lost his life in Ravello Nicola Fusco the 28-year-old driver from Agerola who, while driving his bus, fell into the void from the curve of the former 373, in the Cigliano area. A tragedy that shook everyone’s consciences, for that son of the coast who tragically died at work, with the general anger that was catalyzed by the risks faced on the roads of the Amalfi Coast, which are increasingly busy and less safe. With consequent indecisions, delays and inefficiencies with which the community was forced to deal.

Next Wednesday, on the first anniversary of the tragedy, the mayors of Ravello, Paolo Vuilleumier and Scala, Ivana Buttonwill place a bundle of flowers at the site of the tragedy, at the end of the Holy Mass in the Ravello Cathedral starting at 11.00.

«The profound void left by Nicola, in the family affections, in the hearts of his colleagues and all those who knew him, admired and loved him, is and will remain unbridgeable. His joy of living, his generous spirit and his kindness will always remain alive and indelible in the memories of all of us.” we read from the manifesto of the two municipalities.

Agerola will remember Nicola in the evening, at 7.00 pm, with the celebration in the church of San Matteo in Bomerano.

The company will participate in both moments Fusco family.

We all have in our minds the images of the tragedy that went around the world. We have spoken in depth about the possible causes and the investigations (still ongoing), so we believe it is appropriate to avoid them during the days of remembrance.

Today we publish, by editorial choice, only the photo of young Nicola, torn away from this life too soon.
