1992 – Furiani tragedy: shortly before the start of the semi-final of the 1991-1992 French Cup between SC Bastia and Olympique Marseille, played Furiani near Bastia in Corsica at the Armand Cesari Stadium, a temporary stand installed for the occasion collapsed , causing 18 deaths and 2,357 injuries.
