LISTENING The most important day of the 71st edition of the national Bersaglieri gathering has arrived. That of the large and colorful parade with several hundred feathered infantry who will cross the historic center, running and to the sound of trumpets, in the presence of the President of the Council of Ministers Giorgia Meloni, expected at 11.30 am. Live connection scheduled on Rai 3 from 12.35pm.
The expected audience is around 35 thousand people in addition to the people of Ascoli, crowded along the route. An important test that will require the closure of all the streets along the route crossed by the procession, starting from the northern ring road, to arrive in Piazza Arringo. At the same time, the two main squares, namely Piazza del Popolo and Piazza Arringo itself, will be constantly monitored by law enforcement officers and security operators complete with people counters to avoid the occurrence of dangerous overcrowding. And in this sense, venues with double entrances will be able to allow their customers to enter only from the main entrance, to prevent the number of people present in the squares from increasing even without having passed through the people counter.
The program
The Bersaglieri parade will start at 8.45 am, from the northern ring road, at the former Gil car park, and will cross practically the entire historic centre. Specifically, the route will see the procession start from the gathering area and then descend onto viale Marcello Federici and then continue through viale Vellei, the Campo Parignano bridge, then Lungo Tronto Bartolomei, corso Trento e Trieste, via Ceci, via del Trivio, a short stretch of Corso Mazzini, Piazza del Popolo, Via Del Duca, Corso Trento e Trieste, Via XX Settembre and, finally, Piazza Arringo where the parade will end. The entire route, obviously, will be armored and inaccessible to cars. Parking will also be prohibited.
Here’s who will parade
It will be a long procession, divided into groups, that will leave this morning to cross the historic center and reach Piazza Arringo. In detail, the first group will see the Jesi Ostra fanfare, the banners of the geographical area of the Marche, the mayors of the participating municipalities, the banners of the Municipality of Ascoli, the Province of Ascoli and the Marche Region, then the representative of the Giostra della Quintana of Ascoli, a representation of the students of Ascoli, the fighting and local associations, a group of volunteer nurses, a representation of the Italian Red Cross, the women’s group Crimisi of Cremona, the historical groups and the sports groups of the national Bersaglieri Association “Fiamme crimson ”. In the second echelon the military fanfare and other representatives of the 8th Regiment will parade.
In the third tier will participate the brass band of Ascoli, the national medal table, the presidency and the national council, banners and banners of veterans from Zara and Pola, a platoon of “in step” Bersaglieri, the Mineo section Bersaglieri choir, students and Bersaglieri and the “Roots Train” for veterans and decorated. Then from the fourth to the sixth bracket the representatives of all the Italian regions will parade. The seventh echelon will include mission groups and other groups. To close, the eighth echelon with the Ascoli fanfare, the organizing committee of the Ascoli rally and the organizing committee of the next city (not yet revealed) that will host the rally. In Piazza Arringo, from 9am, there will be the deployment of units with fanfare and war flags, the arrival of the authorities with speeches and at 12.30pm the “Passing of the Cue” ceremony to the host city of the 2025 edition. At 6pm the rally will end in Piazza Roma with the lowering of the flag.
