The Milan proceeds quickly on the project of the new stadium. Despite pressure from the mayor Room to modernize San Sirothe property Red Bird seems to be intending to build its own plant. The chosen area, as has been known for some time, is that of San Francesco in the municipality of San Donato Milanese. The club in via Aldo Rossi is focused on building a modern stadium with around 70 thousand seats and commercial areas in front of the facility. However, there were protests from some activists who slowed down the bureaucratic processes.

As reported by The citizenthe Municipality of San Donato will respond to the request presented by the committee “No Stadium” regarding a possible referendum, May 23. In the planned process there was a first phase in which the number and regularity of subscriptions was verified by the electoral office. Subsequently, the documentation was sent to the managers in charge for legal checks on the technical and accounting feasibility. In the last step, the board of guarantors was made up of the general secretary of the Municipality, a lawyer chosen by the councilors of the Milan Bar Association and a public manager of an entity that is not involved in the stadium process.
It is expected in the coming weeks the final decision regarding the referendum proposed by “No Stadio”. For about a year, the committee has been fighting against the new AC Milan stadium which would be built in the municipality neighboring the Lombardy capital.
