Max Verstappen on Red Bull he won the sprint race of the F1 Miami Grand Prix. The Dutch driver, leader of the World Championship, started from pole position and remained in the lead from the beginning to the end of the race. Second place for Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari, started from the front row. Third was the Mexican’s other Red Bull Sergio Perez. Only fifth place for the other Ferrari of Carlos Sainz Jr, also preceded by Daniel Ricciardo’s Racing Bulls. First seasonal points for the Australian.
They enter points area also Oscar Piastri on McLaren, Nico Hulkenberg on Haas and Yuki Tsunoda on Racing Bulls. The Japanese was preceded on the track by Lewis Hamilton on Mercedes which was however subsequently penalized and relegated to 16th position. Lando Norris’s McLaren went out on the first lap after a contact with the Aston Martin Fernando Alonso. The struggling Spaniard finished in 17th place ahead of only Kevin Magnussen in a Haas who was penalized by the jury for a series of maneuvers outside the regulations.
Verstappen: “Not a perfect race, but happy with the victory”
“I didn’t start perfectly with the clutch, then we went clean and I managed to increase the lead. It wasn’t a perfect race, but with the new format we can improve the car for qualifying and the race. Leclerc: “Pushed a lot but without taking risks, tomorrow will be a long race”
“I started quite well, but I couldn’t take any risks because there is still qualifying. I pushed a lot, he had a little more pace but the degradation was similar. Tomorrow the race will be long and it will be important to start from the front in qualifying.
