Update at 4.30pm: in the collision one of the cars left the road and ended up on the embankment below about three meters from the road. One of the people on board died, another was seriously injured, was extracted from the vehicle and, like the other people involved in the accident, was entrusted to the care of 118 personnel. There were four injured in total .
Serious traffic disruptions. The provincial road between Creva and Cremenaga is closed in both directions.
A collision between four cars occurred this afternoon around 2.30pmnear the Creva dam, on the 344dir state road that connects Luino to Cremenaga.
Several people were involvedincluding a 40-year-old, a 40-year-old, a 48-year-old and a 50-year-old: one of these lost her life after the impactbut the dynamics of the accident are still uncertain.
They intervened on site three ambulancesone of the SOS Valceresioone of the Po Valley Luino Emergency and one of Gavirate Red Crosstogether with medical personnel. Given the seriousness of the situation they were also alerted two helicopter rescue vehiclesone coming from Como and the other from Milan.
Together with them also the agents of the Local police of Luino, who are regulating road traffic, currently closed to traffic, and are ascertaining the dynamics of the accident.
