Vintage cars and motorbikes on display in the city, between music and glimpses of yesterday’s La Spezia

This morning at Palazzo Civico the mayor of La Spezia Pierluigi Peracchini, the councilor for Tourism Maria Grazia Frijia, the president of the Automobil Club La Spezia Alessandro Beverini and the vice president Stefano Senese presented “Motoring in the historical culture of La Spezia”. The event, sponsored by the Municipality of La Spezia and scheduled for the afternoon of Saturday 11 May, will see a static display of vintage cars and motorcycles which will be located throughout the city in order to design an ideal itinerary between three iconic locations in the historic center of La Spezia. It starts from Piazza Europa where historic cars and motorcycles from the 70s and 80s will be on display and some historic buses will be present. Two paintings by the Sarzanese painter Maura Jasoni will also be on display, depicting the La Spezia of the past, and photographic material on motoring and La Spezia culture. The Pro Loco del Golfo will also be present with its own stand. The square will host the Giovane Orchestra Spezzina, with its wind and percussion ensemble.
The itinerary continues in Piazza del Bastione where you can admire cars and motorcycles from the 1950s with the performance of the Quartet of the Jazz Department of the Giacomo Puccini Conservatory of La Spezia.
Finally, in Corso Cavour there will be space for cars from 1980 to 1990 with an exhibition of photographic material relating to motor racing in La Spezia, part of the Archive of the Automobile Club La Spezia.

President Beverini and deputy Senese underline “how the intent of the event, in addition to valorising historic motoring, is to promote the cultural and social values ​​of La Spezia of the past and give vitality to our historic centre”, and the director Aci Davide Lo Preiato highlights “how there is a perfect combination between vintage cars and the beauties of the La Spezia area”, thanking the institution, associations and private individuals who collaborated in the success of the event, underlining the director “like these forms of collaboration are an essential glue for their success”.
