“The Legislative Assembly of Liguria has unanimously approved my agenda on telephone signal coverage in the hinterland of our region. Furthermore, the problem also concerns the motorway tunnels in the Ligurian territory. The provision commits the council to establish a working table, with the participation of the regional mountain department, the digitalization department and representatives of mobile telephone operators in order to identify an intervention plan to equip the entire Ligurian hinterland of adequate coverage”.
This was stated by the regional councilor of the League and president of the III Productive Activities commission Sandro Garibaldi.
“In fact – he continues -, the signal is unfortunately insufficient in a large part of our territory despite the fact that, throughout the year, the inland locations are frequented by Ligurians, tourists, hikers, mushroom hunters and lovers of the natural beauty of Liguria. In addition to the problems and severe inconveniences that residents have been forced to suffer for years, municipalities, various associations, rescue teams and visitors have been asking for a long time to install new repeaters, especially for reasons of safety in the area. Among other things, even recently, several hikers have been injured or immobilized in inaccessible areas and the absence of telephone signal can make the work of 118 rescuers extremely difficult or almost impracticable”, concludes Garibaldi.
