UNICREDIT ALLIANZ INSURANCE: NET PROFIT RETURNS POSITIVE IN 2023. PREMIUMS AT +1.8%

Collections in the motor sector stood at 30.3 million euros (+0.8%), while non-motor collections stood at 195.7 million euros (+2%).

UniCredit Allianz Assicurazioni, a company owned equally by Allianz spa and UniCredit spa (the non-life insurance products are distributed by the Unicredit branch network), closed 2023 with a net profit of 38.2 million euros, compared to a net loss of 4.7 million euros realized in the previous year.

The company recorded premium income of 226.1 million euros (+1.8 compared to the end of 2022). The collection of the motor sector (TPL for land vehicles and bodies of land vehicles) stood at 30.3 million euros (+0.8%), while the non-motor sector at 195.7 million euros (+2%). The technical result of gross direct work presented a positive balance of 61.6 million euros (57.5 million euros in the previous year); overall the technical operating result amounted to 54.5 million euros (34.3 million euros at the end of 2022).

The claims-to-premiums ratio, relating to gross direct business and all classes, went from 24.1% to 36.5% (of which +4.8% percentage points relating only to claims linked to natural disaster events, amounting to 13.1 million euros, of which 9.6 million euros are borne by the reinsurers).

The incidence of management expenses on the written premiums of direct business also decreased, reaching 38% (39.9% in the 2022 financial year). The ratio between eligible own funds and Solvency Capital Requirement was 230%. (fs)
