WATCH THE VIDEO SERVICE. The port, logistics and tourism. Some representatives of the Regional Council of Styria, an Austrian land that borders Slovenia, carried out a mission in Friuli Venezia Giulia and in particular in Trieste where they were received in the Municipality and in the Region.

The Styrian delegation was welcomed by the vice president of the Friuli Venezia Giulia council Stefano Mazzolini who praised what has been done in the history of Austria for the territory of Trieste, and the regional councilor Diego Bernardis.

Friuli Venezia Giulia boasts a very long history of friendship and mutual collaboration with neighboring Austria in various sectors. Constant and profitable relationships which have also directly involved Styria. The Alpe Adria Alliance can represent an extraordinary opportunity and a very useful tool for the development of an area that is fundamental for the future of the whole of Europe. This in summary is the concept expressed by Finance Councilor Elena Zilli during the meeting.

In bringing greetings from the governor of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the councilor underlined that the strategic position of our region, in the heart of Europe, has led to an ever greater strengthening of cohesion policies with neighboring partners such as Austria and Slovenia and the intensification of relations on important assets such as research, tourism, culture, logistics and trade. For the councilor, the Interreg Programme, the Euregio without borders EGTC and the cross-border creation of Nova Gorica Gorizia European Capital of Culture 2025 are virtuous examples which, due to the excellent results achieved together, are often taken as a model.

The Alpe Adria Alliance can therefore be an ideal container to put our communities and especially the young generations in a position to take on new challenges. For the representative of the regional council, Friuli Venezia Giulia views with extreme favor the possibility that the Alpe Adria Alliance can improve interregional cooperation policies, implementing specific joint projects to support especially the Western Balkan states in their path towards membership to the European Union.
