NEWS. Road accident in Mestre in via Bissuola: one injured, road closed
A road accident occurred this afternoon, Thursday 2 May, in Mestre in via Bissuola, at the intersection with via Baglioni. Two cars collided. The stretch of road remained closed to allow rescue operations and the removal of the vehicles, which were semi-destroyed in the collision, in which at least one person was injured. According to initial reconstructions, one of the two cars involved was traveling at high speed when it attempted to overtake and in the process it hit the other car. The paramedics from Suem 118 arrived on site, as well as the Fire Brigade and the Local Police.
NEWS. High water expected, possible raising of the Mose barriers
The Tide Forecasting and Reporting Center of the Municipality of Venice reports that today, Thursday 2 May, 110 cm is expected at sea at 8.30 pm. With this tidal peak it is possible to activate the Mose system at the four inlets of the lagoon, namely two at the Lido, one in Malamocco and one in Chioggia. NEWS. Entrance fee to Venice, eighth day
Eighth day of the entrance fee to Venice. For today, 15,077 paying people were registered, down compared to yesterday’s figure. The codes issued for exempt guests in accommodation facilities are 53,116, who are not required to pay because they already pay the tourist tax, as the greatest number is registered at the weekend. Exempt because they reside in Veneto or in the metropolitan city: 3,047. Requests for exemption “for other reasons” at 972 and “to invite acquaintances” at 1,551. The checks carried out verified a total of 11,890 QR-codes, without detecting any particular critical issues.
HEALTH. Over 5 million euros for “Healthy Holidays”
For the summer of 2024, Ulss 4 will invest over 5 million euros in the “Healthy Holidays” program, thanks also to the financing provided by the Veneto Region, which is renewed and expanded to further improve healthcare for tourists but also for seasonal and commuter workers.
