It cannot be defined as a thirteenth bonusconsidering that it will arrive with the January pay slipbut the 100 euro bonus will soon become a reality, despite being resized day after day. For its creator, the Deputy Minister of Economy, Maurizio Leo, it will be a sort of thirteenth of the tax wedge cut.
Leo explains that the wedge cut it is valid for 12 months, so the bonus is considered “as if it were a thirteenth of the tax wedge, this is the objective”. But, the deputy minister also explains, 23% tax will be applied to the bonus, so it means that the real figure will be 77 euros.
If the taxpayer were to have deductions or deductions in his favor, Leo underlines, “more or less we are around 80 euros, relative to the 80 euros of the wedge”. Remembering, however, that the bonus is only available on a one-off basis. How will it work and what are the latest news on this bonus?
How the bonus works and what its true amount is
First of all it should be underlined that it will not be a real thirteenth bonus because the government has transformed it into one one-off measure that will be paid with the January paycheck. The figure is 100 euros gross, but in reality the net is lower: with a rate of 23% the net amount is loweras Leo underlined, amounting to around 80 euros or a little less.
Furthermore, it is paid only for the period in which the employee actually worked: if he was hired during 2024, therefore, only the months in which he served are considered. Furthermore, the bonus will not be automatic, but will have to be requested from the employer.
Who can receive it: the requirements
The first requirement is the income requirement: the current year is taken into consideration and cannot be exceeded 28 thousand euros. Those who are incompetent are not entitled to the bonus, so in fact there will also be a sort of minimum threshold which, according to the head of Labor of the Democratic Party, Maria Cecilia Guerra, should be 8,500 euros.
The other requirement concerns the family status: anyone who has a spouse and at least one can access the bonus son. The draft decree provides that families with a single parent (therefore without a spouse) and with at least one dependent child can also access.
How to ask for the 100 euro bonus
The bonus, as mentioned, will be paid with the January 2025 paycheck. According to estimates, it should go to 1.1 million families. They will be the workers to have to ask the employer, by presenting a certificate in which you guarantee that you are entitled to it and also indicating the tax code of your spouse and children. Then the tax withholding agents who provide the measure recover it through credits in compensation with taxes and contributions to be paid.
