Tripled bills and unclear communication: these are the reports from Ligurian users four months after the end of the protected gas market. Now the progressive transition to the free market also for electricity with a final deadline of July 2024.

The consumer is faced with a choice to continue with light supplies.
No change for vulnerable customers, i.e. users over the age of 75 or who benefit from the electricity-gas bonus, who see the continuation of the same contractual conditions as the protected market with prices established by the guarantor authority.
For other consumers, the choice of switching to the free market or gradual protection: variable price service, unique throughout Italy, considered a middle ground between the free and protected market.

“We need to pay attention, especially in recent weeks we have received reports from customers for bills with disproportionate amounts, due to the gas tariff changes that the managers have applied in recent months” – he says Alberto Martorelli, President of the Liguria Consumer League – “we have highlighted the communication problem, therefore we ask for regulatory intervention to change the current law on the matter”.
