In their wills, Alice and Ellen Kessler, now 87 years old, indicated that they wanted to be preserved together in the same urn

The Kessler twins, iconic figures of the Italian variety show of the 60s and 70s, have expressed the desire to remain united even after death. In their wills, Alice and Ellen Kesslernow 87 years old, have indicated that they want to be kept together in the same urn, with the ashes of their mother and their beloved poodle, Yello. “We loved him more than anything. Ellen and I want our ashes to one day be mixed with our mother’s and all three can be kept together in a multi-seat urn,” Alice Kessler told the German newspaper Bildadding that “the common urn saves space. Nowadays you should save space everywhere. Even at the cemetery.”

The twins have thought of everything, but it’s a shame that their plan isn’t feasible at the moment: “In Bavaria It is not permitted to bury two people in the same urnnor a dog in a human cemetery,” reported a funeral director interviewed by Bild. Despite this, the Kesslers are determined to find a solution that respects their last wishes.

The Kesslers, born on August 20, 1936 in Nerchau, a town that was in East Germany at the time, lived a life full of successes and adventures. Arriving in Italy in 1961, at just 24 years old, they won the hearts of Italians with their dance shows and their television performances in highly popular programs such as “Studio One” And “Very good song”. In addition to having been pioneers in various television formats, they have also worked with some of the biggest names in Italian entertainment, including Mina, Alberto Sordi and Raffaella Carrà.
