European elections: all the candidates from Liguria including reconfirmations, debuts and bets

The lists for the European Championships on 8-9 June have been completed. In the North Western Italy constituency, Ligurian candidates are present in all the lists, who start at a disadvantage compared to their competitors from Piedmont and Lombardy in terms of population and therefore electoral weight.

For Fratelli d’Italia, there are Stefano Balleariformer deputy mayor of Genoa and group leader in the Regional Council, e Antonella Tosi, teacher from Toirano, former president of Fidapa Albenga. There is also Carlo Fidanzalinked to our Region as commissioner of the InLiguria agency from 2016 to 2018 upon appointment by president Giovanni Toti.

Forza Italia’s list includes the former undersecretary at Palazzo Chigi Luigi Grillofrom La Spezia, several times parliamentarian with origins in the DC, and, thanks to the agreement with Noi Moderati, from La Spezia Andrea Costaformer regional councilor and former undersecretary of Health.

They run for the League Francesco Bruzzonetoday MP, and Lorenza RossoCouncilor for Social Services of the Municipality of Genoa.

The Democratic Party is running for re-election from La Spezia Brando Benifeihead of delegation to the European Parliament, writer and journalist Donatella Alfonsomunicipal councilor in Tursi, and the Sanremo Lucia Artusiformer municipal councilor for the environment in the City of Flowers.

In the list of the 5 Star Movement, after the online voting of the members, there are three Ligurian candidates, in addition to the leader Mariangela Danzì who for five years was at the top of the municipal and metropolitan ‘machine’ of Genoa, with the role of Secretary and General Director: Isabella Pariniformer municipal councilor in Varazze and candidate for the 2020 regional elections; Fabio Romanoalready candidate for the 2018 elections; Jean François Boudardof French origin but “naturalized” Genoese for decades.

It is on the list of the Green-Left Alliance Simona Cosso, teacher and trade unionist from Genoa, reconfirmed as leader of Sinistra Italiana Genova. If the Sovereign and Popular Democracy list is readmitted, the Genoese will run Silvia Stefanijournalist and communicator.

United States of Europe, in agreement between +Europa and Italia Viva, candida Davide Faltericity councilor in Genoa and vice-president of Federlogistica, e Raffaella Paitaformer regional councilor now parliamentarian.

They are running for Carlo Calenda’s Azione Cristina Lodimunicipal councilor of Genoa, Frederick Jacob municipal councilor of Media Valbisagno and the entrepreneur Riccardo De Giorgi. The first, now regional coordinator, left the Democratic Party, while Giacobbe and De Giorgi have a past in the M5S.
