The Kessler twins united even after death. The historic variety showgirls of the 60s and 70s want to be preserved in a single urn. This is the provision that the two 87-year-old ladies left written in their will. “Ellen and I want our ashes to one day be mixed with our mother’s and all three can be preserved together,” Alice Kessler told Bild. “We made provision for it in our wills,” she added. «The common urn saves space. Nowadays you should save space everywhere. Even at the cemetery”, continued Alice Kessler.
The will
It will therefore be about «a multi-seat urn». In fact, the Kesslers would also like the ashes of Yello, the poodle left as an inheritance by their mother, with them. The death of the animal left a great void in women. «We loved him more than anything. It was always a great joy to come home and see how happy the dog was with his two owners». But doubts remain about the actual possibility of implementing provisions of this type. «In Bavaria it is not allowed to bury two people in the same urn, nor a dog in a human cemetery»commented an entrepreneur interviewed by Bild.

The urn
The urn of the twins’ mother is located in the Gruenewald cemetery, near Munich. The Kesslers landed in Italy in 1961, at the age of 24, conquering the country with their ballets. They obtained a place in the history of television by participating in highly successful programs such as Studio Uno, in which they sang the opening theme «Da-da-un-pa», and Canzonissima, working with all the major protagonists of Italian entertainment: from Mina to Alberto Sordi to Raffaella Carrà. Their success continued into the 1970s, when – among other things – they agreed to pose for Playboy. At the end of the ’80s they returned to their native country, Germany (where they are very well known), while continuing to work and travel often in Italy. Born on August 20, 1936 in Nerchau, a town which at the time was in East Germany, they fled with their family to West Germany.
The carreer
At 19 I joined the ranks of the legendary Blubell Girls, at 40 I was on the cover of Playboy. Very blond, coordinated, dancers, singers, actresses in the cinema for Dino Risi in Thursday, with Alberto Sordi in The Complexes and in the theater for Garinei and Giovannini, for many the twins are still the Carosello dei pantyhose, the refrain of La notte è piccolo and the sketches of Studio Uno, Milleluci and Canzonissima. They keep fit by training with gymnastics and live in a house in Munich in two neighboring apartments. After a long absence in 2011 they returned to the theater stages with the show Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. German and very blonde, the most loved TV twins performed on the stage of the Ariston in Sanremo in 2014 in one of their historic songs, ‘Quelli belli come noiì. Ellen she was the longest in romantic relationships: twenty years with Umberto Orsini. Alice, on the other hand, loved Enrico Maria Salerno for 4 years, but she had many affairs. Now they are alone but full of friends.
