In Forni di Sotto an event focused on Piwi wines.

For the first time, Friuli Venezia Giulia hosts an event focused on Piwi wines from all over Europe and on the philosophy that animates them. The abbreviation “Piwi” comes from the German pilzwiderstandfähig and stands for fungus-resistant vines. Varieties that do not require pesticides to be protected from parasites or mold. Today the term “Piwi” is synonymous with innovative, robust and ecological, and is now establishing itself as a real brand.

The event is scheduled in Carnia, where tenacious and pioneering producers have chosen to plant vines of the Solaris variety, obtaining extraordinary results thanks also to the conformation of the mountain territory. The appointment is scheduled for Friday 3 and Saturday 4 May in Forni di Sottoand will have as its title “Piwi Wines: a look at global prospects starting from Solaris”.

We will talk about sustainable development, mountain viticulture, experiments and new crossbreeding, winemaking: these and many other topics will be the starting point for sharing experiences in a global growth perspective. The event is aimed at everyone thanks to a series of events of different sizes that aim to involve wine enthusiasts, winemakers, technicians and all those who want to participate in an event that celebrates the new frontier of sustainable viticulture.

The calendar includes conferences, masterclasses, tastings with resistant wines from all over Europe and dinners with local products. More than 250 labels present. The event is promoted by ADÂLT business network in collaboration with Piwi International, both strongly committed to supporting increasingly careful and responsible viticulture.
