The Regional Observatory on Sustainability, established on the proposal of the Regional Councilor of Italia Viva Iovino, has the task of identifying tools and policies for sustainability

Yesterday, in the multimedia room of the Regional Council of Campania, theRegional Observatory on sustainabilityestablished on the proposal of the regional councilor Hon. Francesco Iovino (Italia Viva). The Observatory looks at the challenges that arise from the interactions between humans and the places they inhabit. The objective is to identify tools and policies that can be transformed into sustainability proposals.

It will deal with the environmental, economic and productive aspects that influence the quality of life of citizens with the aim of modernizing the relationship with the planet, in the belief that an approach consistent with the principles of technological innovation can give rise to participatory transition practices , innovative and sustainable.

The Observatory will develop its activities and thematic reflection trajectories through cycles of meetings.

Councilor Iovino introduced yesterday’s meeting and reiterated the importance of sustainability and implementing ideas that aim to improve not only sustainability, but also the health and safety of citizens. The councilor then wanted to reiterate how “concrete” this observatory must be, bringing startups and municipalities into synergy to develop projects that have a positive impact for the territories and citizens.

The Bike Sharing project of the Neapolitan startup Eagle Ersp Micromobility – Micromobility for municipalities – was illustrated to the many local administrators and members of trade associations present.

Eagle Etsp Micromobility has created a specialized electric bike and scooter rental service with App to facilitate citizens’ mobility

The project was presented by Dr. Michele Palmieri: “Municipalities are offered a green mobility solution to allow their employees to easily reach their destinations, moving easily in the urban centre. Promoting sustainability, safety and reducing the impact on the environment”.

“Freeing urban space from cars – continued Palmieri – It allows you to live better with beneficial effects that are not only environmental. Moving by bicycle means more physical well-being, less obesity, less cardiovascular disease, less diabetes. Moving well is like eating well”

The meeting then concluded with a series of questions from all those present, including representatives of the associations and representatives of the municipalities. In the next Observatory meetings, in order to promote the sharing of knowledge and the in-depth analysis of issues related to sustainability, other projects and practical ideas that aim to redefine a new relationship with the planet and its resources will be illustrated.
