On Roman land, Jannik Sinner will do the honors as number 2 in the ATP ranking, returning from Madrid Open 2024 and with the aim of bringing the Italian Masters 1000 home: the last to have won for Italy in the men’s singles draw was Adriano Panatta in 1976.
Fresh from two clay court tournaments (the Monte Carlo Masters 2024in which he reached the semi-finals, and indeed Madrid), the blue will further test his conditions on this surface before moving on to the two great objectives of the year on clay: Roland Garros and the Olympic Games.
He will do so with a consolidated second position in the world ranking, given that he does not defend any points in the Spanish capital. Furthermore, from Rome – where last year he stopped in the round of 16 – he could start his assault on first place Novak Djokovicabsent in Madrid.
