Palazzo Ducale hosted the last event of “Genoa meets Calabria”, the two days of literary events that animated the Ligurian capital on Friday and Saturday in the imminent handover between Genoa and the Municipality of Taurianova, in the province of Reggio Calabria as the Italian Book Capital.
The passing of the baton between Genoa and Taurianova will officially take place on 11 May at the Turin Book Fair, between the press conference to present the Taurianova Book Capital project (2 May) and the official inauguration of the exhibition on May 16, with the reopening of the municipal library ‘A.

Organized by the Municipality of Genoa and the Cultural Association Oltre Confine, with the artistic direction of Show Eventi, and the participation of the Municipality of Taurianova and the Calabria Region, the “Genoa meets Calabria” event united Genoa and Taurianova for two days in an exchange of cultural and literary suggestions. “We have embraced the role of Book Capital with fervor and commitment, promoting reading, art and creativity in all its forms – said the mayor of Genoa Marco Bucci – We have welcomed authors, poets, publishers and book enthusiasts , creating a vibrant and inspiring atmosphere that has enriched the cultural life of our city.
