Mussomeli mourns the death of Alfonsina Minio, 57 years old. She passed away in Palermo where she was hospitalized in the major burns department of the Civico. Since Wednesday, April 24, when she suffered a very serious accident in which she suffered burns to a large part of her body, her life had been hanging by a very thin thread. The woman was injured following an explosion in her home in Contrada Prato in Mussomeli, in the southern area of the town, near the school building. The explosion was apparently caused by a gas cylinder. Firefighters, carabinieri and the men of 118 intervened on site. The woman was intubated and transported in very serious conditions, also as a result of gas inhalation, with the air ambulance to the Palermo Civic Center in the large burns center to receive specialist treatment . The whole community had hoped for a miracle which, unfortunately, did not happen. Mrs. Alfonsina was, in fact, very well known and esteemed in Mussomeli. She dedicated her life to essential values, family and work, and this is why she was loved by everyone and today there are so many who mourn her.
