TRIESTE – Shows in the greenery in collaboration with the city’s theaters, walks between nature and history, meetings in the greenery, conversations around books, workshops for children, wine tastings and a new theater section created on the occasion of the Centenary of the University of Trieste and the birth of Franco Basaglia. These are the elements around which the varied program of the 13th edition of Rose Libri Musica Vino will revolve, the cultural event promoted since its inception by the Monte San Pantaleone Agricultural Social Cooperative in collaboration with the University of Trieste. As always, the events will be held every Friday in May in the rose garden of the San Giovanni Park, in the period of maximum flowering of its thousands of roses.

The novelty of this edition is the section One Hundred Years of the University on stage. During the five days of the event, in the rose garden (or at the Franco and Franca Basaglia Theater in case of bad weather), a different show dedicated to some prominent figures who have contributed to creating the long history of excellence, research, creativity and ingenuity of the University, with the collaboration of the main theaters of the city: Teatro Stabile del Friuli Venezia Giulia Il Rossetti (3 May), Hangar Teatri (10 May), Teatro Stabile Sloveno/Slovensko Stalno Gledališče (17 May), Teatro MielaBonawentura (24 May), La Contrada Teatro Stabile of Trieste (31 May).

The initiative was born from the desire to enhance a consolidated cultural event, connecting it in an even more significant way to the territory and using the theatrical medium to speak to a wider audience, telling some of the great protagonists who shaped the first hundred years of the University of Trieste, but which, at the same time, have left a mark in the present and traced the trajectories for the future of the University, the city and the international scientific community. In a unique setting, a garden that becomes a metaphor for the world, the guests and the themes chosen for this edition also propose care, and in particular collective care, as a way of being in the world, a gesture capable of changing things through words, a new look at the earth, a chair or a bottle of wine. An invitation to meet to make this city more humane and more attentive to people every day. Here is the complete program.
