Arrowhead Games Studios is finding new ways to keep users on their toes Helldivers 2. The latest idea concerns the new Operational Order “Legitimate Defense”which practically asks the players which of two new Stratagems to unlock for the whole community.
Specifically, the mission requires you to free the surviving citizens on two planets, Choohe and Penta. Before being invaded by the Automatons, both populations were testing different Stratagems, namely the RL-77 rocket launchers (Penta) and MD-17 anti-tank mines (Choohe).
Well according to the instructions given by GM Joel, the players they will only unlock the Stratagem of the first liberated planettherefore leaving it up to the community to decide which one to actually get and which to give up (although it is likely that the second will also be introduced at a later time).
A rocket launcher or mines?
According to information on Helldivers.io, at the moment the vast majority of the Helldivers 2 community has decided to give priority to Penta’s release to get your hands on the new RL-77 rocket launcher. Indeed, who doesn’t like rocket launchers?
It is interesting to note that the text of the Order that can be read directly within the game talks about a “Phase 1”, a sign that the story will have a sequel of some sort, perhaps to unlock the other Stratagem or in general new instruments of death for the Helldivers at the front. We’ll see.
