In recent days the Anti-Crime Police Division has served a warning for Domestic violence issued by the Police Commissioner of Vercelli, against a 47-year-old resident in the province, who was responsible for repeated episodes of physical violence committed against his elderly and infirm cohabiting father.
The episodes, some more recent and others dating back over time, resulted in a final event, which occurred a few days ago, during which the man punched the father’s neck and face for no reason and subsequently, in the throes of anger, damaged some furnishings placed inside the house.
The victimhurt and scared, could barely contact 112 before her son, in a state of agitation, snatched his cell phone from his hand to prevent him from calling for help.
Following of the injuries sustained, the injured person was admitted to the Sant’Andrea Hospital in Vercelli for treatment, where he was interviewed by the police officers on duty at the police station during the initial investigations.
The Police Commissioner’s warning for domestic violence it is a prevention measure that intervenes at the first violent acts, when one is faced with some “spy crimes”, threats, beatings, injuries, damage, private violence, even in the absence of a complaint from the victim. Anyone can report incidents of domestic violence involving third parties of which they become aware and will be guaranteed anonymity: current legislation also protects the whistleblower. The warned subject was sent to a center affiliated with the Police Headquarters for an integrated treatment program, called “Zeus Protocol”, aimed at acquiring the criminal value of the actions committed. The “Zeus Protocol”aimed at abusers who receive warnings, provides a monitoring by the Anti-Crime Police Division in order to avoid the recurrence of violent conduct.
In this regard, it is worth highlighting the importance assumed by “Zeus Protocol”because 80% of those warned no longer repeat violent behavior, so it is certainly a useful and successful system.
Finally, it is specified that following the warning, if the subject’s illicit conduct does not cease, action will be taken automatically and the punishment for the crimes perpetrated will be increased.
