they approach a man and set him on fire

A man was covered in petrol and set on fire in a terrible episode that occurred in Anzio, on the Lazio coast, in the province of Rome. A group of unknown individuals attempted to burn alive a homeless man of Indian nationality at the Pavilion station, where the 42-year-old man had found makeshift shelter, around 9 am on Friday, April 26. The victim herself reported the attack, suffering burns to her chest and legs.

Despite his injuries, the man managed to escape by boarding a train and reaching Villa Claudia station, where he reported the incident and was rescued. He was rushed to Sant’Eugenio hospital. Officers from the Anzio police station are investigating the case, examining the recordings of the station’s surveillance cameras which may have filmed the attack. This episode brings to mind what happened 15 years ago in Nettuno, nearby, where three young people attacked and attempted to burn alive a man of Indian origin.
