A 42-year-old homeless man was seriously injured after people set him on fire while he slept on his bed near the train station Pavilion, near Anzio, in the province of Rome. The 42-year-old was transported to the hospital under code red Saint Eugene for the burns reported on the chest and legs, but it is not life-threatening. It happened this morning around 9 am, although the report arrived at lunchtime near the Villa Claudia station in Anzio. A patrol from the Anzio state police station intervened on site, in via Verona.
The 42-year-old Indian told the officers that between 9 and 10 in the morning, while he was sleeping on his bed under the overpass near the Pavilion station, he was doused with a flammable liquid and set on fire by some people who then went to escape. After putting out the flames, the man then took a train and got off at Villa Claudia, where he asked a passer-by for help and called for help. The police from the Anzio police station have acquired the footage from the station’s video surveillance cameras and are investigating to verify the reliability of what the 42-year-old declared and trace the perpetrators of the attack.
