After second place in the regional championship held in Angri, Serena Vitale of the Juvenilia company of Cava dè Tirreni won the title in the Student 1 category of the Gold Italy National Tournament Championship held in Naples with the organization by Tiziana Gallo’s Evoluzione Danza company .
Thanks to an almost perfect race conduct, Raffaela Cammarota’s gymnast climbed to the top step of the podium which she shared with Arianna Ranucci of the Ginnica 3 company of Rome, while Chiara Cavalleri of the Polisportiva Varese took the third step. Serena Vitale, led on the floor by Ilenia Sivoccia and Elvira Viscito, obtained the highest score of the competition on the ball with 20.65 and the third on the floor exercise with 18.20. In the Senior category, ninth place in the general ranking, out of the 40 national finalists, for her Cavese clubmate Francesca Pia Marzano, author of two good performances on the hoop and the ribbon.
Among the top ten rankings of the Italian Gymnastics Federation, noteworthy is the sixth place in the Allieve 2 of Federica Cascella of Partenope Napoli coached by Daniela Della Bruna and the seventh of Roberta Ercolano of Evoluzione Danza Angri by Marilena Caiazzo. Both performed well in the hoop and club exercises, finishing not far from the podium.
Backup positions, however, for the other gymnasts from Campania competing at the Palavesuvio in Naples. Sofia Crispino in A1 and Mariasole Varo in J1, both from Leonilde Balzano’s Veseva Torre del Greco, Laura Barone in A2 and Vincenza Marmo in J2 from D&G Kodokan Atena Lucana from Rosaria Bruno, Francesca Mele in J1 and Gaia Pariso in J2 from Partenope, Giorgia Minopoli in the J3 of Azzurra di Quarto led by Liliana Leone, Mia Ricciardi in the A1 of Vania Santoro’s GR Pontecagnano, Charlene Siviero of Pia Cuomo’s Ginnastica Sorrento in the J1, Maria Grazia Pia Vitale of Tiziana Guarro and Eliana’s Fortitudo Torre del Greco Monteforte of the AN.SI.CA. Antonietta Iossa’s Sirignano, both seniors and Maria Grazia Tedesco of Jessica Di Martino’s New Elyan Salerno in the J2.
Meanwhile, over the weekend, the “Ritam Cup” will be staged in the “USC Vozdovac” Sport Center in Belgrade, an International Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament which will see Clara Di Giorgio of Arbostella 1989 Salerno led by Rosaria Fiumara involved. For the gymnasts who will take to the Serbian platform, the competition represents a step towards the next European Championships in Budapest.
