GENOA – “An unbridgeable void. An unparalleled sadness”.

Cus Genova Rugby wanted to greet Pietro Imperiale, born in 1995, just 28 years oldplayer and coach of the youth teams, a big boy almost 2 meters tall and weighing 130 kilos who passed away today, killed by a tumor that he discovered late in September.

The farewell was communicated through a post on the social networks of the red and white club: “Today, Pietrone Imperiale, player and coach of our boys, passed away.”

The funeral will be held tomorrow, Saturday 27 April, at 10am in the Church of the Immacolata in via Assarotti.

On Instagram the club remembers him with these words: “With enormous regret we announce the untimely death of Pietro Imperiale, the backbone of Cus Genova rugby. We have lost a player of the First Team, a coach for our youth teams, an educator for the children of the summer center, but above all one of us Bye Pietrone, we miss you already.”

Just last Sunday, to watch the derby between his Cus and Pro Recco, Pietro had left the clinic with the oxygen tank and then together with his father he had reached the Carlini-Bollesan stadium. Pietro was a second line but also the coach of the youth sector, Pietro is dead, but for his teammates he is still here, beautiful and strong as he was, among them, fighting for a goal.
