Dfter over twenty years of rotation of presence in the city’s churches, the celebration of the anniversary of Saint Joseph the Worker will be celebrated in the parish church of San Lorenzo in Selva, a hamlet of Lugo.
The Coordination of the Lugo Diocesan Office for the Pastoral Care of Work has thought of “forcing” the rigid territorial boundaries and proposing a method of twinning, through the local Acli Clubs and with the consent of the respective vicariates, which provides for a joint celebration, precisely, scheduled for 10am on May 1st in the church of San Lorenzo, in via dei Bartolotti 9.
As he explains Raffaele Clòof the Lugo coordination of the diocesan office, «the holy mass will be celebrated by the parish priest Don Angelo Vistoli and at the end the provincial manager of the Libera association will briefly entertain those present on the topic Assets confiscated from the mafias, an opportunity for social redemption and professional and qualified work”. The celebration will conclude with the usual blessing of agricultural machinery and motorbikes and an aperitif offered by the Acli Clubs of Lugo and San Lorenzo.
The reflection on a theme inherent to the world of work has led the promoters to address aspects that often create a stir and indignation: the mafia phenomenon in general, the repercussions it has on the economy and on peaceful coexistence in the territories, the assets that are accumulated through criminal activities. Stopping at these assessments demonstrates a certain sense of moral responsibility, but neglects what can be done today to restore life and dignity to assets and businesses that have been and are seized from the mafias.
Carlo Garavini, coordinator of Libera for the province of Ravenna, will speak on this topic: «Through the enunciation of episodes and indicators that represent the mafia phenomenon also in our lands, we will be able to realize how much we can do to create good job opportunities for young and unemployed and give them continuity through the organization of businesses that are relevant from both economic and social aspects. Another way to create sharing and cohesion by growing good fruit from land that greed and evildoing had dried up” concludes Raffaele Clò.
