NEWS. First day of entry fee to Venice, 15,700 paying

Among those exempt: almost 40,000 guests in accommodation facilities (who already pay the tourist tax), 2,100 relatives of residents and 2,000 friends of residents. Furthermore, 13,000 students and 20,400 workers registered for the entire period. Furthermore, all residents and those born in the Municipality of Venice who can enter and exit the city without registration, showing only their identity document, must be considered.

On the first day of the entrance fee, the city association Venessia.com released a video message in five languages to express its opposition to the ticket. The text of the sarcastic message reads: “Dear visitors, we thank you for choosing the city of Venice. We remind you that if the attractions were not to your complete satisfaction, you can request a refund of the entrance ticket at our offices. We hope to see you again soon.”
NEWS. Brawl between customers and managers, a bar in Marghera closed for 7 days
On 24 April the Venice Police Commissioner ordered the suspension of the license of a well-known public establishment in Via Trieste in Marghera, for a period of seven days, following the serious events that occurred on the evening of 20 April last when people inside the premises a fight broke out between eight customers and the bar managers. The customers, after consuming alcohol for the entire afternoon, refused to pay the bill. After apparently leaving the venue, they returned shortly afterwards armed with clubs, and attacked the managers, as well as a patron of the bar, and then disappeared in two cars parked near the venue.
NEWS. Cavarzere, VLT hall closed for 10 days, meeting place for criminals and drug dealers
Also on 24 April, the Venice Police Commissioner ordered the suspension of the business license of a VTL hall in Cavarzere for ten days. Following the numerous elements collected by the Carabinieri, it emerged that the place had become a place of habitual frequenting by people with criminal convictions and without a fixed abode, as well as a point of reference for drug dealing, as well as having now become a regular meeting place for people with burdens from police prejudices as well as having been reported, over the last few months, for several episodes of arguments, including violent ones and causing significant damage.
