He had called his mother to tell her that she was held hostage in the apartment of Gennevilliers (Hauts-de-Seine) of an individual he had met about a week earlier. An endless nightmare for a French Jewish girl who never thought he would find himself in such a situation. The story, which began last Sunday, just the day before Pesach, says a lot about growing anti-Semitism not only in France but throughout Europe and the USA, starting from universities and numerous Western universities.
As reported by Le Parisien, the girl would have met her kidnapper a week earlier and everything would have gone wrong from the beginning. After convincing her to go to her house, the man then refused to let her go out.
According to media reports, the woman managed to get her phone back and call her mother for help. The police car immediately set off and managed to identify the exact apartment from which the SOS had been sent, thus arresting the alleged culprit and freeing the victim.
After the kidnapping, the man claimed to work at the RATP (Régie autonome des transports parisiens) and then sent chilling messages to the victim’s entourage, as established by police sources. «Good luck, you will never find your daughter, you will never see her again, I will make your daughter prostitute», he had written to the victim’s mother. According to the first information gathered by Le Figaro, he also sent a message to the woman’s ex-boyfriend explaining that he wanted «avenge Palestine».
The thirty-two year old was arrested in Gennevilliers (Hauts-de-Seine) and placed in police custody for two days. The investigation was entrusted to the Hauts-de-Seine judicial police. The man will be tried on June 21 before the 16th criminal chamber for «drug use” e «written death threats based on religion.”
The Nanterre prosecutor’s office had initially opened an investigation into acts described as «kidnapping”, «seizure”, «rape” e «death threats”. However, the seizure was ultimately not accepted by the prosecution because «the facts appeared not sufficiently characterized”. Regarding the rape allegations, the prosecutor added that «require further investigation to be carried out”.
