It happened this morning in Sant’Antonio Abate, in the province of Naples: a 41-year-old barricaded himself in his house, turned on the gas and threatened to blow up the house.

He opened the gas cylinder, barricaded himself in the house and threatened to blow up the entire house, risking not only dying, but causing damage to nearby people or things; fortunately, the intervention of the police, who broke into the house, prevented the worst. This morning, Friday 26 April, the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Section of Castellammare di Stabia intervened in via Casa Varone in Sant’Antonio Abatein the province of Naples: as confirmed by numerous reports to 112, here a 41 year old man he had barricaded himself in the house, threatening to blow himself up.

The 41-year-old is in the apartment on the basement floor of a building: in fact, through the windows, the soldiers can see him. The man is standing on the bed, he has opened the valve of the gas cylinder that he keeps next to him and he is holding a lighter in his hand, while he screams his intention to commit suicide, making everything explode.

From the window the police perceive a very strong smell of gas, with which the apartment has evidently been saturated, and understand that there isn’t much time; three soldiers broke into the house and, not without difficulty, blocked the 41-year-old, while the gas cylinder was closed and taken outside. The 118 health workers also arrived on site, sedated the man and took him to the Maresca hospital in Torre del Greco for all the necessary treatment; the 41-year-old is in good health.
