8th ‘Discover Italy’ concluded: appreciation in the area grows

The 8th edition of Discover Italy has ended, with a continuously growing and appreciated trend. On 18 and 19 April, in the former convent of the Annunziata in Sestri Levante, more than 100 buyers from over 40 foreign countries (a third of whom came from the United States, a focus strongly desired by the Liguria Region) had the opportunity to meet 150 sellers interested in discovering a tourist proposal that embraces the entire Italian territory. During the two-day workshop, over 6 thousand pre-scheduled appointments were held between supply and demand.

“This event, the pride of Sestri Levante, is an event not only of one municipality but of the entire Gulf of Tigullio – states Augusto Sartori, councilor for tourism of the Liguria Region – In addition to the coast, it is important to increasingly involve the municipalities of hinterland in similar events. I believe in the idea of giving a winning image to these worlds, which are often little known but can offer alternative and off-season tourism. Furthermore, this would allow us to improve the numbers that have been truly important in the last two years. Nowadays, foreign tourists exceed Italians and this is the reason for the choice to focus on US buyers. North American visitors rewarded us last year with +10%, placing this market in fourth place after France, Germany and Sweden”.

The next edition is already scheduled, scheduled for 27 and 28 March 2025.
