It also asks the entire community to reflect on what happened and to always pay the utmost attention to the care and custody of pets so that such tragic events never happen again.

No one can explain how such a tragic and violent event could happen. Everything happened in an instant, while little Francesco Pio found himself in his uncle’s arms, ready to say goodbye. The mother, Paola, who has not yet appeared publicly today, had only been a guest of the friend who owned the dogs for a few days. According to what transpires, the little boy had never had contact with pit bulls before this tragic event.
The child’s grandfather, still in shock and devastated by grief, met with the mayor this morning to find comfort and solidarity in the community. This terrible accident deeply shocked everyone, bringing with it painful questions and a widespread sense of disbelief among the citizens of Eboli.
