Old fabrics and objects in the hands of “fragile” women become new gadgets for Friuli – Nordest24

PromoTurismoFVGthe tourism promotion body of Friuli Venezia Giulia, has decided to collaborate with the Ridoprìn Laba tailoring workshop managed by the social cooperative Karpos, specialized in the recovery of fabrics and objects. This partnership is part of a large circular economy and corporate social responsibility project, aiming to offer new job opportunities to women in vulnerable conditions.

The added value of the Karpós social cooperative

The Karpós social cooperative, based in Torre di Pordenone, has a clear objective: to provide support and work opportunities to women who find themselves in fragile situations. Thanks to this new collaboration, the Ridoprìn Lab laboratory was able to hire new women, thus expanding its social and environmental impact.

Paola Marano, president of the cooperative, expresses her gratitude: “We are deeply grateful to PromoTurismoFVG and the Region for recognizing our commitment to social and environmental sustainability. This collaboration allows us to further support the women who work with us, transforming materials that would otherwise have been discarded into magnificent handcrafted objects.”

A better future through recycling

The laboratory not only recovers materials destined for waste, but transforms them into unique products such as bags, cosmetic bags and key rings, all personalized and characterized by solidarity. This process not only helps reduce waste, but also promotes an inclusive and accessible business model.

Paola Marano adds: “Our mission goes beyond simple material recycling. We offer a second chance not only to objects, but above all to people. The Ridoprìn Lab is a real launching pad for a better future for women in disadvantaged situations, such as those without family support, immigrant women or single women with children.”

An initiative supported by local and national funding

The Ridoprin Lab project received important funding from the “An Accessible and Inclusive Business” tender, promoted by the Municipality of Pordenone and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. These funds made it possible to expand the laboratory’s activities and increase the number of women employed.

The tailor’s shop in via General Cantore is not only a workplace, but also a space open to the community, where citizens can purchase sustainable products and commission tailoring work, actively contributing to the virtuous cycle of the circular economy.
