A 66-year-old man died following an explosion that occurred inside his home in Carovigno, in the province of Brindisi. Due to the explosion, part of the attic of the apartment collapsed. The explosion was caused by a gas leak. All attempts by the 118 health workers to resuscitate the victim, Cosimo Guarini, were in vain.
«I knew him well. A decent person like his entire family. Our community is shocked by this tragedy”, said the mayor of Carovigno, Massimo Lanzilotti, who arrived in via Di Giacomo where the explosion occurred. The firefighters are carrying out checks inside the apartment where the explosion occurred, and also on the adjacent buildings to ensure safety.
