Everything you need to know about the VELA Cup Liguria / ICE Cup

WHERE AND WHEN. Saturday 27 April in Chiavari, capital of the Gulf of Tigullio, Eastern Liguria.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE. Any type of boat starting from 4 meters, no certificate is required. Whoever finishes first wins, with divisions by homogeneous length classes, Cruising Boat (white sails) and Sport Boat (spike, gennaker, code 0) categories.

DURATION AND ROUTE. The “Regatta” lasts no more than three/four hours. The route is coastal, in the Gulf of Tigullio: it starts from Chiavari and touches Santa Margherita Ligure and Portofino.

THE CREWS. You don’t need to be an expert sailor to participate.

DISCOUNTS AND ADVANTAGES. For all VELA Cup crews, 10% discount at the prestigious restaurant of the Yacht Club Chiavari (located on the port) for dinner on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th April.

PRIZES. The first in each class in the Cruising Boat and Sport Boat categories are awarded, as are the first Classic Boat for each length class. The overall winner on corrected time among all the participants wins the Leg Winner prize and there are also many prizes in the drawing for (almost) everyone.

There is no need to stock up or cook, if you are hungry at the VELA Cup Liguria you can book directly from home packed lunch to bring on board for the regatta. The service is very simple. After the great success of last year, the VELA Cup returns to Marina Cala de’ Medici on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th May, in the heart of the Etruscan Coast and in front of the splendid Tuscan Archipelago. A second edition that hits the mark and doubles, or rather triples! In the weekend preceding the 151 Miglia, in addition to being there second stage of the VELA Cupthe regatta circuit open to all boats and all sailors (athletes and otherwise), on Saturday, after the awards ceremony, the champions of Italian sailing will take to the stage, with the awarding of the Sailor of the Year awardthe Oscar of Italian sailing.
