At 8.52pm today, April 23, the Avellino Fire Brigade intervened on the SS 7 Bis, called Variante, at Km. 83.300 in the municipality of Atripalda, due to a serious road accident involving two cars. In the violent impact, the driver of a small car, a 57-year-old originally from Santa Lucia di Serino, remained stuck between the twisted sheets of his vehicle, and after extracting him, unfortunately the 118 health workers who intervened declared his death. In the other car a 60-year-old man originally from Manocalzati, who was injured and was transported to the Moscati hospital in Avellino to undergo medical treatment. The vehicles involved in the accident were made safe and assistance was provided for the investigations of the accident carried out by the State Police.
