The center-right wins. Here are the numbers

Regional elections in Basilicata. The polls return the Region to the centre-right, reconfirming the outgoing president Vito Bardi, supported by a coalition made up of Fratelli d’Italia, Forza Italia, Lega, Orgoglio Lucano, Azione, Democrazia Cristiana – UDC – Popolari Uniti and La Vera Basilicata.

Campo Largo was defeated once again, with its candidate Piero Marrese supported by the Democratic Party, Basilicata Casa Comune, Movimento 5 Stelle, Alleanza Verdi Sinistra – PSI – La Basilicata Possibile and Basilicata Unita.

Analyzing the numbers it is clear that in Basilicata the leading party is that of abstentionism which for these regional elections achieved the result of 50.19%. Of the 567,939 voters, those who went to the polls were 282,886 (49.81%). The invalid ballots are 9441, 3090 blank ones and 19 contested ones according to Eligendo data.

The centre-right coalition with the addition of Action collected 57.52% of the votes, equal to 150,381 votes, winning twelve seats in the Regional Council.

Fratelli d’Italia takes four seats with 17.39% equal to 45,458 votes; three for Forza Italia wins 13.01% with 34,018 votes.

Two seats were won by the League which stood at 7.81% with 20,430 votes; there are also two seats for Azione which won 7.51% equal to 19,646 votes, the entry of Pittella who enters the Regional Council is important.

Only one seat instead for Orgoglio Lucano which reached 7.03% with 18,371 votes. For the centre-right coalition, Christian Democracy – UDC – Popolari Uniti did not enter the Regional Council, reaching 2.54% with 6,636 votes. Same fate for the True Basilicata which reaches 2.23% equal to 5,822 votes.

Vito Bardi becomes President of the Regional Council of Basilicata with 56.63% equal to 153,088 votes, approximately three thousand more than the coalition that supports him.

Another thud for the broad or progressive camp, if you prefer. The coalition collected 41.36% equal to 108,135 votes, winning seven seats in the Regional Council of Basilicata.

Evidently the political proposal did not convince the Lucanians, also due to what happened between Conte and Schlein.

Of the seven seats going to the opposition, two to the Democratic Party which won 13.87% equal to 36,254 votes, confirming itself as the second party in Basilicata; two seats for Basilicata Casa Comune which obtained 29,228 votes equal to 11.18%; two seats also for the 5 Star Movement which reached 7.66% equal to 20,026 votes; only one seat instead for Alleanza Verdi Sinistra – PSI – La Basilicata Possibile which reached 5.79% equal to 15,144 votes. He does not enter the Basilicata Unita Regional Council which reaches 2.86% equal to 7,483 votes. A seat also for the Presidential Candidate Piero Marrese who stops at 42.16% equal to 113,979 of the votes, which wins 5,844 votes more than what was obtained by the coalition that supported him.

The Presidential Candidate of VOLT Basilicata, Eustachio Follia, does not enter the Regional Council. For him – at the first presentation of the symbol of the European political formation – 3,269 votes equal to 1.21%. The party received 2,947 votes equal to 1.13.
